Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoCs Named Arm TechCon Innovation Award Winner for Best Use of Advanced Technologies

Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that its Zynq® UltraScale+™ RFSoC product line was named the 2017 Arm TechCon Innovation Award Winner for best use of advanced technologies. Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoCs combine direct RF data converters with FPGA logic and a multi-core, multi-processing Arm® subsystem, providing a comprehensive RF signal chain for wireless, cable access, test & measurement, radar, and other high- performance RF applications. Traditional implementation based on discrete components involves trade-offs in functionality, cost, and power consumption. These constraints no longer apply to the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC as the family leverages advanced technologies to integrate analog and digital functionality on the same silicon. This results in unique configurability across the signal chain, power and form factor breakthroughs, as well as a simplified design process.

The Arm TechCon Innovation Awards program distinguishes leading-edge technologies that have spawned new applications and sparked innovation in systems design. Every year, Arm recognizes its ecosystem partners who are working towards advancing computing that shapes today's connected world.

"We are honored to receive this recognition from Arm for the game-changing capabilities our new RFSoC devices bring to SoC designers," said Wouter Suverkropp, senior product line manager at Xilinx.  "Shrinking the form factor, lowering power requirements, and reducing system latencies are all key requirements for RF-based applications, and these are the benefits addressed by our All Programmable RFSoCs."
